The main reason for picking the "Haus Der Bilder" for my bachelor project were the letters on the facade. This inspired me to create letter that are related to the building. The result were several initial letters and a uppercase font. The main goal is to create a finished font project with this design idea.

The Font
The concept was to create a font based one the letters on the facade, but with time I decided to create a better design and more letters then the visible ones.
The ornaments were a major reason why I liked the font so much, the floral style and the perfect placement of the elements were straight up fascinating.
So I decided from the start to create every letter with this ornaments, obviously simpler as it would hard to recognize them on small scales.
With time I became clear that I need a strong an well balanced base letter to put the ornaments inside.
Another reason was that those ornaments didn't work.on small to regular formats.
At the point of frustration, that I am not able to use the ornaments at all, I thought about initial letters. At the same time I decided to use initials for my bachelor project.
It turned out to be a perfect solution. I was able to portray the state of the building with the letters and I was also able to reuse a forgotten design choice for paragraphs.
The colab with Stadtschrift
Thanks to Stadtschrift and their connections, I was able to remove the letters from the house facade. Because of that I was able to get the correct messurmants to create a even better version of it.
I wanted to showcase what this building and this magazine is capable, therefore I wanted to present my audience artists that deserve a space to present themselves.
PREPERATION
Before I started to design the letters I wanted to really understand the dynamics and proportions of the letter itself and the ornaments.
I created a three dimensional model of a letter to get a better feeling about the letter on the facade.
After I presented the magazine, I noticed that the jury was stuck on a few pages.
After my presentation the external jury member asked if I got a name for this font and where I she can is able to purchase it.
This motivated me to create more letters and styles for this project.
